This Mercury anode for 40/50/60 hp engines with serial numbers 1C050252 and higher, and is intended for installation on the lower unit. It is suitable for a wide range of Mercury/Mariner outboards from 30-300hp, as well as Force outboards from 1995 and newer, including the 90hp and 120hp models. The primary function of this anode is to shield your outboard from the detrimental effects of galvanic corrosion, thereby preserving the gear case housing.

Crafted to adhere to Mercury Marine's original equipment manufacturer specifications, this anode ensures the best protection for your Mercury, Mariner, or Force outboard. Its design allows for quick and straightforward replacement using common tools, fitting seamlessly into the side pockets above the trim tab and anti-ventilation plate.

For optimal protection, it's recommended to inspect the anodes regularly and replace them at any sign of corrosion or pitting. This proactive maintenance can significantly reduce costs over time. Made of cast aluminum, these anodes surpass the military specification MIL-A-24779(SH), offering more durable protection than zinc anodes and are suitable for use in both fresh and saltwater environments.
